AEA Elementary embraces Zero Waste!
Zero Waste lunches came to AEAECS in 2013, as a result of the vision and passion of gardening educators, Terri-Hughes Oelrich and Ami Hooker. As an environmentally conscious school, we wanted to reduce the amount of trash created by student lunches, while also recycling, and creating compost for our campus-wide gardens. As our school has grown, so has our lunch time Zero Waste program, under the direction of Sheree Lawrence and supported daily by our Safety Crew. This Zero Waste video, made by our fifth grade Environmental Arts Student Ambassadors, demonstrates how Zero Waste works here at AEACES.
